Godfather of Indigenous HipHop
Mark Munk Ross is a Jardwadjali man that has been working in the music industry for over 30 years and has produced and mentored countless artists and acts both in Australia and Asia.
In 2014 he was the first NSW artist to be inducted into the National Indigenous Music Awards Hall of Fame for his contribution to music.

After performing as a break dancer since 1984, in 1988 he started performing and producing music professionally. After performing during this time playing instruments in bands and as a solo artist, he founded Deadly Award-winning HipHop Crew South West Syndicate officially in 1992. Since then he has toured extensively throughout Australia and internationally in Asia and the USA, clocking up hundreds of performances the past 20 plus years.

Since 2013, Mark has been producing and co-writing songs throughout South East Asia, including four hit singles. These songs have a combined YouTube count of nearly 110 million views.

He has previously been a board member and radio presenter on 93.7FM Koori Radio hosting the Brekky Show, Funky Lunch and the Indij Hip Hop Show. Also, he has been a presenter on ABC Radio and Channel V. Mark has also worked on community educational projects and has for many years including creating and working on events with Gadigal Information Service/Koori Radio, Vibe Australia, Jimmy Little Foundation, Australia Council, APRA, Moogahlin Performing Arts, Bankstown Youth Development Service, Blacktown Arts Centre and other organizations mentoring emerging artists.
